Which wood should I choose for a custom award?

Several woods could suit your award. Screen colours and material names alone will not settle the choice.

The answer for your order

Yuesen works with walnut, oak, beech, pine, MDF, bamboo, rubber wood, cherry and mahogany. Choose with the desired appearance, shape, decoration and budget in mind, and confirm the specific material in your quote.

Natural grain or a painted surface

Natural wood brings variation in grain and colour. If consistency of a printed or painted surface matters more than visible grain, discuss suitable alternatives including MDF. Bamboo has its own visual structure. Review the actual sample instead of relying only on screen colours.

Walnut, oak and beech

Use these as starting points for a material discussion rather than a universal ranking. Ask for the appearance and finish available for your design, plus suitability for the engraving or printed artwork. Staining and coating affect the final appearance.

Specify what matters

Tell us whether weight, visible grain, finish, intricate shaping or cost is most important. Ask about dimensions, joining and base stability for your shape. Availability and suitability must be checked for the specific project; no wood choice guarantees identical grain across a batch.
